Playtimes at St. Peter’s.
Playtimes are lots of fun at St. Peter’s!
Preschool and Reception children have their own, smaller playgrounds, mud kitchens and grassy areas where they can explore and play with their friends. There is climbing equipment and slides to help to strengthen little bodies. We learn to share resources and to take turns with all the equipment.
Year 1 pupils start off the year on their own playground and grassy bank area and then move to the larger KS2 playground as part of their transition into Year 2.
Y2-6 use the large KS2 playground along with our huge field when the grass is dry. The pupils have lots of playground toys to use and all of the creative resources from the Play Pod. The children love using the giant scrap items to build castles, trains, racing cars and dens.
There are two adventure playgrounds used on a rota basis and ‘The Holt’ outdoor classroom and ‘The Reading Den’ for quieter play time activities. We also have football goals, netball and basketball posts, a dancing zone, 4-square and table tennis tables. There is so much to do during playtimes – we love our break times!
