Welcome to Year 4!
We’re a vibrant class of enthusiastic learners, filled with budding authors, scientists, artists, inventors, and explorers. This year, the class is taught by Mrs E. Smith and Miss L. Ryding with fantastic support from our teaching assistants Miss Christie (Mornings) and Mrs Mills (Afternoons). We’re looking forward to a fun and exciting term full of learning and discovery!
In Science, we’ll be exploring the topic of sound, while in History we’ll dive into the fascinating events of World War II. In English, we’re excited to be studying The BFG by Roald Dahl—a much-loved classic that will inspire our reading, writing, and imagination. Alongside this, we’ll continue developing our skills in maths, practise our Spanish, and stay active with hockey in PE.
Spellings are tested every Friday, with a new set issued each week. Regular practice helps build writing confidence and a strong understanding of spelling rules. Reading is at the heart of everything we do, and pupils are encouraged to read with an adult at least four times per week to build fluency and confidence. Reading records will be checked every Friday.
Your involvement is vital to your child's success, and we truly appreciate your continued support. Let’s make this a brilliant year together!
Thank you for your support,
Mrs Smith and Miss Ryding
